FW: Two Amazing Science Opportunities 3/1/14

From Mrs. Spahr

I'm excited to let you know about two excellent science activities happening this coming Saturday (3/1/14) in the Tri-Cities area.  Both events are open to the public and are free.  :)

  • Family Science Day at LIGO will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 PM and will include lots of fun, hands-on science activities plus a tour of the observatory.  Check out <www.ligo-wa.caltech.edu/030114_event.html> for details and driving directions.
  • Winter Birds will take place at the McNary National  Wildlife Refuge in Burbank from 9:00 - noon.  Activities will include watching live birds of prey, identifying common winter birds, hiking (guides available), bird banding, and dissecting owl pellets.  The Refuge is located at 311 Lake Road in Burbank. (Take the Hwy 124 exit off of U. S. 12.)  Call the McNary Education Center at 509.546.8300 for more information.

God bless your weekend,

Mrs. Spahr
